Cyclescheme Employer: What happens if a participant goes on maternity, paternity, or agreed unpaid leave?

If a participant is absent from work during the Hire Period for example; maternity/paternity leave, unpaid leave or extended holiday or sick leave, but continues to be employed, the Salary Reduction will continue to be applied as long as the payments do not take them below National Minimum Wage.

This excludes statutory maternity pay, paternity, adoption, shared parental and sick pay and payment for statutory minimum holiday.

If it is not possible for the Salary Reduction to continue in full as above, then the Salary Reduction will be suspended. Once the employee returns to work their deductions can commence again.

Please let us know when an employees payments have been suspended in order for us to delay their end of hire communications.
